| Beginning with a demo recorded with friends
and circulated at school in 1989, DisputeOne has been a part
of the local hip hop scene for years, making music that is
frequently well-received.
After signing with Smooth Composition Recordings (SCR), DisputeOne, then EXTREME,
released his first full-length album, I.A.I.M.A.S. (Immature Artists Imitate,
Mature Artists Steal). Finally getting serious about his musical career,
this up and coming artist received a coveted invitation to perform at the Black
Music Exposition in 1995.

Separating from SCR in 1997, DisputeOne emerged
as a solo artist with increasing exposure and positive feedback
from the community. He began working with Rhymesayers Entertainment
and is featured on both the Effort and Industrial
Warfare mixtapes, the latter of which features the Twin
Cities classic "Transitional Grammar."
Faced with differences in musical direction, DisputeOne eventually split from
RSE in order to pursue forming his own crew. Creating hip hop production, promotion
and artist development company Dirty Smarts in 2001 and forming the group Synoptic
with local musicians Mikchek, Lojik Reazon, and Live Wire in 2002, DisputeOne
at last found the creative control he had been looking for.
Since separating himself from crews like SCR and RSE, DisputeOne has continued
recording, with numerous releases on mixtapes and bootlegs, and featured appearances
on other artists' projects. He has worked with KMOJ and KFAI radio stations,
including hosting local music show "The Session." He is currently working
on his second LP, tentatively titled Images: A Decade in the Making.
