Ernie Rhodes DisputeOne GeoffreyWatsonMC Dirk Diggs Last Word

Ernie Rhodes

It's all practice at this point. Every word I write is preparation for the next word. Every line should one up the last one. That's "The Plan." I got no choice but to keep doing this hip hop thing until there's nobody left to support it. Right now, it's the center and the focus. "This Journey, My Mission" was cool. Things are cooler now.

THE RENAISSANCE MAN

Something happened to me in 2003. It all went down while D.E.C. was writing and recording the “Elevater Music” CD. I realized there were A LOT of things that I wanted to say to the world and never considered my music as a place to say them. I know some may find that odd. After all, if an emcee has something to say, they say it their rhymes. That is what artists do. They express themselves through their art. I knew that but I did not UNDERSTAND that. I was stuck in a zone where emcees dropped general information, but nothing to specific or on point. This was a place where I told you how amazing I was because that is what emcees are supposed do. A place where you got better at your craft over, time without making a concerted effort to get better. A place where I talk about the good and the bad, but not the beautiful and the horrifying.

I DO NOT DWELL IN THAT PLACE ANYMORE.

I started leaving that place as I composed my verses on the “Elevater Music” CD. On that project you hear me say “…slight transition in the progress made…” Now you know what I mean by that (if you did not know already). The new Ernie Rhodes CD is in the works. It is entitled “The Orbital Effect” and will be out in late 2005. The title will make sense to you when you hear what the CD is composed of.

SO HERE IS WHAT THE DEAL IS NOW!!!!

I will always talk shit because I like to and no one can stop me.

The live show will stay live. Know that. There is no life without energy.

I am saying more things and saying them more creatively because I am capable of it and people do not want to hear garbage.

ALWAYS FORWARD. NEVER BACKWARD.

Despite what you've heard, I don't drink too much. I drink too OFTEN. There's a difference. Kids who know me know the deal. I'll give you a case of beer if you give me a shot of whiskey. However, if beer is all we got, I'm drinkin' it and you can't stop me.

What do you do if you are down to your last $20? Spend $10 on a hip hop show and the other half on whatever. You won't be disappointed.
